Fat Boy’s Breakfast!!

Saturday 22nd August
It’s a hard life. Beach after beach, meal after meal, and beer upon beer! Where did it all go wrong!! Koh Tao was superb, as was our stay at StarVilla. Couldn’t recommend it enough! Only 3 beautiful apartments with Alan and Heidi looking after our every need. Perfect.
We did plenty more snorkelling, and I’m now thinking I might become a professional snorkeller! Can’t believe I reached 45 years of age without having done it before!
Every day in Koh Tao seemed to end up with a few beers at Fizz bar lounging on the bean bags watching the sunset, before a great Thai meal somewhere else. My new Diesel flip flops are brilliant, like walking on air (the flip flop version of Ronnie’s Uggs!!)!! So much for Havianas!
Yesterday we moved on, taking two ferries and a bus to Ao Nang on the Krabi peninsula. We booked a hotel, which at £20 a night for two including a huge breakfast buffet is incredible value. We’re lazing at the rooftop infinity pool today with a view to the sea. Cloudy at the moment but still very hot and at full blast humidity! I go in the pool to dry off!
Couldn’t help myself at breakfast – had sausages (5!), beans, bacon, omelette, salad, vegetables and orange juice, but then went back for fried noodles and stir fried veg! Breakfast of an athlete! Speaking of which, still haven’t run since Melbourne….. Although, I did weigh myself two days ago and am only 1kg heavier than when I started! From this I deduce either A) the scales were broken, or B) I’m losing weight from my legs and arms and it’s all gone on my belly….
Last night’s meal took place in a cheap restaurant which would have made a great setting for a TV documentary/comedy! Absolute chaos! When the lady brought our bill, Josh ordered another meal. When the bill reappeared with the extra food on it, it was cheaper than originally! Magnificent! £8.50 for 4 main courses, two soups, 2 650ml Chang beers and a litre of water! That would have been about £246 in Australia!! I love Thailand! Charlotte is in food heaven as she’s able to eat every 7 minutes without blowing the budget.
Tomorry we’re on a full day luxury speed boat trip, visiting 4 islands (including “The Beach”), snorkelling, lunch and dinner, BEERS, and sunset at Poda Island. Should just about cope with that….
I’m currently half way through Bill Bryson’s “A Short History of Nearly Everything” – much easier than A Brief History of Time! Musically I’ve been having a week of big band and jazz! Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Miles Davis, Snarky Puppy, Dizzy Gillespie and the legendary Ella Fitzgerald. Perfect!
I also have a great idea for a new app, that I’m convinced will be an international hit, and negate the need for me to ever work again. Only thing is, I’ve no idea how to go about creating it…… Maybe I’ll teach myself!
Cheers everybody! I do believe it’s after midday now, so obviously it’s beer time!!!  😄😄😄
